Keppie Massie builds valuation team

Independent surveyor Keppie Massie has appointed Peter Eustance and Steve Lang to its valuation department.

Eustance was made redundant by CB Richard Ellis in September last year and will head up valuation at Keppie Massie, whose founders were both at Richard Ellis prior to setting up on their own in 1999. Eustance is based in the Liverpool head office and started work earlier this month.

Lang joined from Christopher Rodgers this month and is based in the firm's Manchester office.

Keppie Massie's valuation clients include banks, regeneration bodies, local authorities and property companies. The firm employs 36 staff.

Eustance said: " I saw this is an excellent opportunity to develop the valuation department of a renowned and established practice which has a great track record across the North West region."

Massie commented: "We are delighted to have Peter join us to develop our valuation team with the benefit of his experience and contacts in the north west market, and with Steve joining in Manchester it provides us with an excellent opportunity to grow this area of business."

Foxhall development sites to be released

Blackpool Council has appointed DPP Shape and Keppie Massie to help write a Foxhall Area Action Plan for the rundown part of the town centre.

The framework will suggest sites for redevelopment and schedule their release to market as part of a 15-year strategy to support regeneration in this area of the resort.

Foxhall is located south of Blackpool Tower with a Promenade frontage and is one of the oldest areas of the town. It was originally developed as a resort neighbourhood accommodating Blackpool's visitors within a vibrant tourist "village". However, the area's hotels and guest houses have gradually diminished, leaving behind run down residential streets and low-quality tourist uses.

Shelagh McNerney, managing director of Manchester-based DPP Shape, said: "Shape is rapidly creating a name for itself in coastal regeneration following on from recent appointments in Rhyl and Colwyn Bay and now Blackpool. Our unique combination of design flair and forward thinking grounded in a sensitive understanding of the difficult market for regeneration means we can offer relevant and progressive advice to both the public and private sectors. The Shape team are delighted to be working with Ged Massie and his team, bringing our many years of creative problem solving to bear on these great towns."

A Stunning New Welcome to The Corn Exchange

The Corn Exchange, a landmark office building in Liverpool’s prime office quarter, has recently undergone a dramatic transformation with the completion of a striking new reception in its main Fenwick Street entrance.  This work follows a comprehensive refurbishment of the Drury Lane entrance to the building which included new windows, entrance doors and secure fob access facilities and the earlier refurbishment of a range of office suites.

There are now a number of high quality newly refurbished suites available in the building from only 150 sq ft (13.9 sq m) upwards including a Grade A specification ground floor suite of 4,652 sq ft (432 sq m) and the second floor measuring 8,700 sq ft (808.3 sq m).  Floors can be combined to enable requirements of up to 18,000 sq ft (1,672.3 sq m) to be accommodated and flexible terms are available.

Unusually for a city centre building generous car parking provision can be secured on site.  The location of the building also affords easy access to a wide range of amenities including the Queen Elizabeth II Law Courts, the Town Hall and Liverpool One, all which are within just a few minutes’ walk of the building.

Big boost for Southport Business Park

Sefton Council has appointed Berkeley James as preferred development partner for two new office units at Southport Business Park.

The business park, situated on Wight Moss Way in Kew, Southport, has Royal Mail, and Experian occupying offices.

The two new buildings will be three storeys high and 30,000 sq ft in size, and will provide approximately 10,000 sq ft per floor of Grade A standard accommodation.

Tony Byrne, director of Berkeley James, said: "Despite the current economic climate, we recognise the huge development potential for this site. There is very little commercial property of this specification available in this area and we have already received a high level of interest from potential tenants.

"Southport is enjoying an ongoing resurgence as a town in terms of residential, commercial and leisure opportunities. We firmly believe that this scheme will have a hugely positive and lasting impact on the local area and wider community through the potential of job creation, business expansion and the re-location of new businesses."

Keppie Massie and Southport-based John Fitton & Co are joint agents on the offices.
