Professional Services - Regeneration and Compulsory Purchase

 

Keppie Massie has one of the largest specific regeneration teams in the north west and is currently involved in regeneration work throughout the UK and the North West region including Liverpool City Region and Greater Manchester in particular. The projects include the major retail redevelopments, commercial and housing projects including Housing Market Renewal totalling in excess of £10bn worth of development activity.

Keppie Massie is appointed to NWDA’s panel for Valuation and Market analysis and is fully committed to assisting in the delivery of the Regional Economic Strategy. We are also one of the panel consultants for English Partnerships.

 

We are currently working with public sector organisations including NWDA and English Partnerships. Local authorities including: Carlisle, Cumbria, Barrow, Lancaster, Bolton, Rochdale, Manchester, Tameside, Salford, Sefton, Liverpool, Knowsley, Wirral, Northwich, Chesterfield, Brighton, and Blackpool.

 

We are also working with various Urban Development Companies and Urban Regeneration Companies including West Lakes Renaissance, Rochdale Development Agency, Central Salford URC, New East Manchester, Liverpool Vision incorporating the former Liverpool Land Development Company and ReBlackpool.

 

Through our work with the Public sector, we have knowledge and understanding of Housing Market Renewal Pathfinder schemes, Local Government Policy regarding best price and best value and budgetary obligations. We regularly undertake instructions for local authorities, housing associations, RSL’s, national house builders and other key stakeholders.

We also represent large corporate and small individual private sector clients. Private sector clients include: Ask Developments, Bluemantle, Langtree Group plc, Wilson Bowden, Muse, ECF, Bellway, Lovell, Keepmoat, Gleeson, Crosby, Taylor Wimpey, GMD Developments, Bolsterstone plc, Grosvenor, Fordgate, Dransfield and St Modwen.

 

The diverse range of the various clients indicates the ability of the Practice to undertake a diverse range of instructions. We have an experienced team and can provide advice and support directly or as part of a multi-disciplinary team across the North West within the following areas:-

Our involvement in projects can range from initial identification of a problem/inception of an idea, identification of areas and extent of investment to working through the development of that idea including undertaking demand and feasibility testing. We will consider whether the appropriate and necessary policy supports a scheme, undertake or facilitate development and developer procurement, delivery, letting/sale of the end product and future monitoring of the development programme.

 

Keppie Massie is experienced in advising on the entirety of the CPO process from inception to delivery including attendance at CPO inquiries and we recently advised English Partnerships on the use of their Regeneration powers. The scheme will enable the comprehensive redevelopment of an area for housing (under the New Heartlands Programme) commercial development and highway and environmental improvements.
